Make 100 Coffee watercolor - 2021 Campaign

I always loved drawing and being a jeweller taught me the technique behind. For ten years, I drew mostly to design my jewellery pieces. Almost 2 years ago, I had the chance to attend a painting class and it opened a whole new world for me.
My paintings are at the opposite of my jewellery drawings. Where jewellery drawing is all about fine controlled lines, my painting is about letting go and following the flow. I'm practicing intuitive painting, a way of painting that aims to make a representation of a personal somewhat dreamlike landscape : a window to my temperament, a glimpse of my soul, if you may. A year ago, I took an interest in coffee painting or more accurately coffee watercoloring as the process is closer to watercolor than painting. I love coffee and it's so wonderful to work with its smell filling the room, shaping the different mocha shades. I have been honing my skills with this new medium and I am pretty excited to share this project with you ! I'll make 100 coffee watercolour illustrations of various sizes. In my mother tongue, we have a saying : '' cent fois sur le métier remettez votre ouvrage '' it can be loosely translated for: a hundred times on the loom put back your work. Meaning : the key to excel is to practise. This is exactly what this campaign is about. Beyond practicing, this campaign is also about preparing an exhibit coming in April. I have been selected to expose my art at the public library in a neighbouring town and, even though it seems pretty modest, it's a great start in becoming a recognized professional artist. In the spirit of practicing, I'm making available to you, backers, my coffee watercolor at half the regular price and I'm throwing in 5 paintings size that you have access to buy before anybody else. If this campaign goes beyond the initial objective, I will make a short exhibit catalogue, maybe even in color ! Base objective for practicing is 500$. At 800$, the black and white catalogue will be added for every backer (.pdf version for tier without physical reward) and at 1100$ the catalogue will become colored. If we go beyond 1 500$ there will be a colorful surprise for everyone ! Of course, if you are in my area at the launching of the exhibit, every backer is automatically invited. Although, restrictions due to Covid-19 might apply on this. |
